Progress rendering of Moon Barn house / by nensi karanxha

Moon Barn project is a very unique custom house for a very artistic family in Upstate NY.

These are some progress renderings of the project.

The project is on design phase, construction will start Spring-Summer 2014.

Inspired from the 19th-century barns, this house takes old-fashioned rural style into the 21st century. Reclaimed materials, ecofriendly features and innovative design solutions will help the owners to cut down on costs while building their dream home. The very idea of a barn brings to mind the image of a large family, with the house exposed heavy timber beams, a bright kitchen where a wonderful home-cooked meal is getting prepared, and all children were playing nearby. Similar to the design of the barns, this modern home is all about simplicity, big shapes, light and textures. The inner skin of exterior is painted bright red and covered with weatherized wood slats which will filter the red color and light coming through. With big doors and screens that slide left and right, the Moon Barn welcomes the family home.
